The second SA Braille Cup Competition was held in September last year, and saw learners from five schools displaying their brilliant braille skills.

The competition aims to promote braille literacy and the use of braille in schools, and tests five categories: reading comprehension, spelling, proofreading, reading fluency and oral presentation of an essay.

Bosele School and Filadelfia School were the top primary and junior high schools, while Prinshof School won the senior high school category.

The competition was followed by a gala dinner at SANCB’s Optima College Hall, where the winners walked away with either a braille machine, braille kit, a certificate or trophy.

Well done to all the participants and thanks to everyone who worked so tirelessly on this event.
