One of the Capital City’s most loved institutions; SA’s only rock radio station, Tuks Fm, came by to drop off a Turbovite hamper for us after we participated in their charity Winter Warmth Drive.
 

The radio station ran a competition on Twitter and Facebook which encouraged people to put up pictures of their blankets covering landmarks around Pretoria and hashtagging the pictures with #blanking. We “blanked” the marble plaque that stands outside our Bureau for the Prevention of Blindness’s old offices on Nicolson Street. We felt that most people drive past the landmark without realising what is the significance of the plaque.
