Call Centre training is provided by Council in the following categories:

1. Learnerships over a period of 12 months whenever applicable.
2. Short skills programmes which runs over a period of 10 weeks.
Both programmes are accredited by the Services Seta and Opticall is a fully accredited training provider by the Services Seta with a NQF level 2

The soft skills modules are as follows:
1. Architecture
2. Directions to Service Perfection
3. Business Communication
4. Communication
5. Thinking Skills
6. Time Management
7. Stress Management
8. Working as a Focused Team

Simulation:

1. The short skills programme is theory based, but in-bound and out-bound scenario’s are simulated as well.
2. The learnership provides soft skills and experiential learning.

Entry criteria

  1. The minimum admission qualification for the above courses is Grade 12 (matric), but persons with Grade 10 (std 8) will also be considered on merit.
  2. The successful completion of a computer literacy course is a prerequisite for Call Centre training.
  3. It is assumed that students who apply for the vocational training courses at Optima College, have gone through independence training and are thus able to take care of themselves in terms of food preparation, laundry, cleaning of rooms and bathrooms, etc.
  4. Only a limited number of students can be admitted for tuition and a selection of candidates will therefore be made.

The financial arrangements are as follows:

  1. Hostel accommodation is payable monthly in advance.
  2. Tuition is payable in full during or at the end of the course, or according to an arrangement between the student and Council’s Finance Division.
